Lake Naivasha safari lodges. Lake Naivasha is about 1
hour drive from Nairobi. Located on the Floor of the
Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha offers an ideal
location for one day excursions from Nairobi and a great
place to start a safari. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores.
Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and
Colombus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo
population sleep the day out in the shallows.
The region surrounding the Lake is well worth exploring. There are
two more smaller lakes nearby, Oloidien, and Sonachi, a bright green
cater lake.
Hell’s Gate National Park lies beside the lake. This Park was named
for its pair of massive red tinged cliffs framing a geothermal
active interior of steam vents and bubbling springs. The park is
home to a profusion of plains game and birdlife. Walking is
permitted, making it ideal for hiking, biking, and rock climbing.
Boat trips on the lake are widely available, and is a great way to
spend an afternoon or morning.
The Great Rift
Valley Lodge & Golf Resort is Perched on

Lake Naivasha Country
Club opened in 1937 as a staging post for Imperial
Airways' flying boat service from Durban to London. The
55-acre property boasts green lawns shaded by mature acacias
and spreading fever trees that stretch down to the lake's
shore. The club offers a wonderful mix of tranquillity in
serene surroundings and a varied number of sporting
activities for both the energetic and the more laid back.

Lake Naivasha Lodge,
managed by the Friends of Lake Nakuru and Elementaita
Conservation Project, was formerly an English colonial
farmhouse. The now luxury accommodations receives the same
exclusive services as its sister lodges Lake Nakuru and Lake
Elementaita Lodges.

Lake Naivasha Simba
Lodge is a great destination. Close to Hell’s Gate
National Park, with its spectacular gorges and hot springs,
and Longonot National Park. Nearby is also Lake Nakuru
National Park. A little further north lays Lake Bogoria
National Park.

On the southern shores of Lake
Naivasha, is Lake
Naivasha Sopa Lodge. The lake is the only fresh
water lake within Africa's Great Rift Valley. Amidst bathing
hippo, the lake teems with fresh water fish both for fishing
and sport. This is the safari traveller's place of relaxation

Loldia Farm was established by
a settler who came to Kenya by ox-wagon after the Boer war
